Our company has been in the business of supplying and planting trees for our customers as well as transplanting customer’s trees for thirty-five years. Each tree we supply and plant is carefully selected based on its health and structure, as well as its suitability to the planting site. The same care is taken in assessing our customer’s trees and suitability for transplanting allowing our customers to make informed decisions regarding their trees.
Our fleet of transplanting equipment includes rubber-tired and tracked skid steer-mounted treespades along with truck-mounted units providing a choice of rootball diameters of 34”, 42”, 65”, 80” and 90”. We also have the capability to dig and basket (wire basket with burlap liner) trees in any of these rootball sizes.
Douglas Wood Large Tree Services also provides transplanting services for larger trees well beyond the capacity of road-going treespades. This service is ideally suited for preserving high-value trees in conflict with construction and development. This process often requires several seasons to plan and prepare prior to transplanting along with several seasons of special aftercare. This extended timeline should be kept in mind if a large tree moving project is anticipated.
